Rolling Into Fall: ThunderKats Skate Shop is Just Getting Started

Lexington’s skate scene is alive and thriving — and ThunderKats is proud to be at the heart of it. Since opening our doors at 227 Woodland Avenue, we’ve been more than just a shop. We’ve been building a hub for skaters, families, and the local community to connect, learn, and ride together.

Building a Community on Wheels

At ThunderKats, it’s not only about selling boards, gear, and apparel — it’s about creating opportunities. Whether you’re a beginner picking up your first skateboard, a seasoned rider chasing your next trick, or a parent looking for a safe after-school activity for your kids, ThunderKats is here for you.

We’ve already started organizing events that bring people together, like our Game of SKATE competitions and our upcoming full-costume Halloween Skate Contest at Woodland Skate Park. With divisions for beginners through experts, food, music, prizes, and plenty of energy, these events celebrate the creativity and resilience that skateboarding teaches.

After-School Skate Club Coming Soon

We know parents are always looking for healthy, active outlets for their kids — and we’re excited to launch our After-School Skate Club for ages 7+. This program, led by a registered nurse and a local skater, focuses on skill-building, safety, and confidence, all while keeping it fun and colorful for the next generation. Pre-registration is opening soon, and spots will be limited.
